ETC5512: Visualising Election Data

For this week’s workshop I’ve organised for a special presentation by Linh Ngo. Linh is a former student in Wild Caught Data.

More recently she has been doing a research project with A. Prof. Damjan Vukcevic and Prof. Di Cook. Her research is focused on creating an R package that can be used to visualise election data. In particular, she is working on creating plots to show the vote distribution between different parties and across different electorates.

See this article for examples of the sorts of plots Linh is working on, and for more information on the changing relationship between the major parties and the independents.
